![]() Dashlane is one of the first password managers to offer passkey support, providing a secure and easy way of accessing accounts without having to create or remember complex passwords. However, Keeper patched this vulnerability within 24 hours of discovery, and no user accounts were affected, nor any data exposed.įinally, I was really impressed by Dashlane’s passkey feature (something Keeper lacks). In 2017, a security flaw was found in Keeper’s browser extension that supposedly allowed websites to steal user passwords. Not all password managers can say this - including Keeper. ![]() ![]() That said, Dashlane has never been breached or publicly exposed for containing security vulnerabilities. Keeper’s 2FA options are also more varied than Dashlane’s: while Dashlane only offers 2FA through biometric scanning or TOTP authenticator apps (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Duo Mobile), Keeper also provides SMS and USB token 2FA tools. However, you can also reset your master password by entering a 24-word recovery phrase and backup verification code on your computer. Similar to Dashlane, you can log into Keeper using biometrics if you forget your master password. ![]() Biometric login is considered a highly secure form of authentication, and it’s great that there’s a way to access your account if you forget your master password, but I do wish that Dashlane had a few more account recovery options.
